1360 October 21, 2026 Another Great Day
I walked the Clam Creek Road again today. What a wonderful place to walk.
Later this morning, we parked at the trailhead to Driftwood Beach. We walked about a mile along the water.

We drove to the “bird tree” where we saw so many beautiful birds the other day and there was one solitary ibis sitting on a branch. We sat on a branch gazing out across the salt marsh. All at once there were two roseate spoonbills flying toward the tree. They perched on branches and then a third joined. A couple of minutes later, they were joined by three more. I’m not exactly sure why I am so fascinated by these birds. They are large and colorful and look slightly prehistoric. I took gobs of pictures.

While we were standing there an older woman named Joan from Boston came to stand beside us. She too was in awe of these birds. We chatted for awhile. She is traveling on her own and she radiated positivity and joy.
We went to a late lunch at Zachry’s Riverside. The seafood was delicious and the view was outstanding.

We rested for awhile this afternoon. This evening, we were not hungry for dinner. We biked to the fishing pier for sunset at 6:47.

A squadron of pelicans.
