1265 April 17-18, 2025 Tiffin Factory Tour
I walked around the town of Red Bay this morning.
At nine thirty, we arrived at the Allegro Welcome Center for the Tiffin Factory Tour. We learned about the history of the company. We had a meet and greet with the company’s founder, Bob Tiffin.

We donned safety glasses and yellow vests. We were given headsets and radios and then we toured the cabinet shop. This is a huge warehouse where all the woodwork and solid wood cabinets for each coach are handmade. Next, we toured the actual production line. Currently, Tiffin produces 4 brand new motorhomes every day. The chassis preparation begins before Station 1. When it arrives, it is welded and basement partitions and basic plumbing and wiring lines are added. From there, the floor is built, the side panels are erected, and the motorhomes begin to take shape. We followed the coaches through about 12 of the 18 stations. The work after that takes place inside the vehicle making it impossible to see how they assemble the finishing touches. Each coach has about 3 miles of electrical wiring. We were absolutely wowed by this phenomenal tour. It was very cool to be allowed inside the facility. I know we have a new appreciation for the attention to details and quality products that are involved in creating a beautiful finished RV. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures…
We met with Victor, our service technician at noon. He gave us an update on all of the progress that he had made and what he still had to accomplish before the end of the workday. He asked us to return at 3 to pick up our rig.
We went to the community park and had our lunch and then we waited.
At 3pm we went back to the service department and we reviewed all of the repairs that had been made. We had hoped to go directly to the mechanical shop for a small item but Tiffin was not going to be able to schedule us until Wednesday. We decided to find another time for the last item. We had an outstanding experience here and I think that we will return for future needs.
We hooked up the Jeep and we started driving east toward Atlanta. We stopped at 7pm CST for the night in Oxford, Alabama at a Cracker Barrel. We got a FaceTime call from two very excited boys!! We went in and had dinner and then slept.
We were up early and we got packed and organized. By 11am, we were at the Prime Storage in Snellville, Georgia. By noon we were at David’s. Oliver and Austin will be home at 3pm and we cannot wait to see them! We plan to be here visiting for awhile and so we will suspend blog writing until we leave sometime in the beginning of May.
