Enjoying the Keys
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park Key Largo, Florida Day 2
I had a great walk around the park this morning. It was a little cooler and it felt wonderful to be outside and moving! I heard there were snow flurries at home…NO SNOW here!
Later this morning, we took the Jeep and drove down Route 1. We took our bikes from Robbie’s in Islamorada. There was construction on the bike trail so we headed back, loaded up our bikes and rode down to MM 72. We cycled there for a couple of miles.
We then drove further south to Marathon Key. We stopped to get lunch and we took our picnic to Curry Hammock where we sat by the water and then walked along the beach.
It is just so beautiful here. The sky was cloudless. The water was all shades of green and blue. There was a crosswind so we were comfortable riding. We had a great day.
We got back to the RV at around three. The rest of the day was spent getting groceries and Tim tried again to work on the steps…no success even with the new motor. We are going to try to get some help with it tomorrow!
Hi Tim & Anita,
Some thought about your step motor problem. Back in the day your Dad and Uncle Hurcey worked at Greystone Granite and they had to make repairs to the heavy equipment. I’m sure they did not shy away from using some persuasion, like a ten pound hammer. Just saying….lol.

You made us laugh!!
The thought definitely crossed his mind!!
He was NOT having a fun time!
Hope you and Janice are staying healthy. We think about you often.
Now Tim’s fan won’t work…he is going to try the ten pound hammer…
Do you know he actually did bang on it and it started right up!

I’m glad the old hammer persuasion worked for Tim, all be just a fan. But, he will have to be careful as too many or too hard of hits can do. Hopefully, Tim won’t have to use persuasion again.
Janny & I are doing good, just keeping to ourselves at home. With Janny’s dementia slow getting worse, I’m going to need help in the no so distance future. Our son David, who lives in Florida, has ask us to move there so he can help. I’m taking him up on the offer. We are in the throws of unloading as much of the clutter we have collected over the years. It is hard for Janny to let go as she sees all of it as memories of her life. I hope to be able to move by next May. We will sell here and buy there. It is a nice area in north Florida (exit 373 off I 95) in Tulee about 5 miles off I 95 half way to Amelia Island.
Looking forward to your next post.
Curtis
Follow up to my previous post. It’s Yulee not Tulee. Sorry, one finger got in the way of the other.

We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers as you make this transition.
Hoping that you can enjoy family during this holiday season.
